Industrial Revolution

You will be exploring the innovations around the turn of the 20th century that changed America and led to the 2nd Industrial Revolution.   Remember the Industrial Revolution is a great time of innovation that will make the USA  one of the world leading manufactures and allow us  to become a world power. It would not of been possible without great inventors like Alexander Graham Bell or Thomas Edison.  However, there are also great innovators of the time.  Like Henry Ford who will change the USA by just thinking outside the box.

Your mission is to complete your chart and learn about the cause and effects of these innovations.  You will have a formative assessment every 3-4 inventions/ innovations to check for understanding.  You will be given three inventions and asked which caused the other.  I don't care about dates.   If you answer because this one happened in 1901 and this one happened in 1908, you will need to relearn the material.  If unable to pass you will have to go back and relearn the material.  However keep in mind the great inventor Thomas Edison said this, " I haven't failed, I just found 10,000 ways this won't work."  So see this as an other opportunity to learn what doesn't work.    Sample Essay & Rubric
