Chapter 10: Age of Jefferson and the War of 1812
The Star Spangle Banner was written during the War of 1812.
This unit will cover Jefferson's presidency and the United States entering into war. The United States is a new country and has to decided how to deal with the pressures of Great Britain. Great Britain is capturing American citizens and impressing them into their navy. They also refuse to leave the Ohio River Valley. Does the United States have the power to fight another war with England? Jefferson has to decide this tough question that is dividing the country. This unit will cover this choice and how James Madison fights this war.

2) How what key things established the Supreme Court’s power.
3) What did the US gain from the Louisiana territory and why did we get it?
4) Why did the War of the 1812 start?
